Antalya Airport and Transfers
Antalya International Airport has direct flights from many European cities. It is well connected to other parts of Turkey and has eight daily direct flights from Istanbul and two from Ankara in May. The airport is about 70 kilometers to the Conference venue, Corinthia Club Hotel. The taxi fare from airport to the Hotel is around 65 €. SERENA, the official Congress Travel Agency, will provide airport-hotel-airport transfers if participants inform SERENA Tourism before May 15, 2007. (35 € per person / one way. 65 € round trip.) Visas
All foreign visitors should carry a valid passport while in Turkey. Citizens
from some countries may require a visa to enter Turkey. This can be issued
at the Turkish consulates in their home countries or can be obtained
at the airport on arrival to Turkey.
Insurances
The conference fee does not include insurance. All participants should arrange for their own insurances in their country of origin.
Registration Desk
Registration Desk will be open from 02:00 pm on May 20, 2007.
Certificate of Attendance
A Certificate of Attendance with your name will be prepared and available at the registration desk after May 23, 2007. Certificates will not be issued after the meeting.
Official Letter of Invitation
An official letter of invitation, designed to help overcome administrative difficulties in certain countries, will be sent upon request. It must be clearly understood that such letters do not cover any fees or other financial supports. If you require an official invitation please send an e-mail to Conference Secretariat.
Conference Materials and Badges
Please bring your official confirmation receipt to the Registration Desk to receive your bag, your badge and related materials. Admission to all meeting events requires presentation of the badges. If you lose your badge please apply for a new one at the Registration Desk.
Driving License
International driving licenses are recognized in Turkey. Car rental companies
require a valid national or international license. Remember to keep to
the right-hand side of the road and wear your seat belt at all times.
Time Zone
Turkish Time is two hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT +2).
Electricity
AC, 50 cycles, 220 Volts.
Currency
The Monetary Unit of the Republic of Turkey is the New Turkish Lira (YTL).
Exchange rates for foreign money are determined by the Central Bank of
Turkey
daily and announced in the newspapers. Convertible foreign money can
be exchanged at the Airports, Banks, Hotels and Exchange Offices with
a small commission (about 2%). All major credit cards (Visa, Master,
€card and American Express) are accepted in most hotels and shops.
Business Hours
Official business hours are 09:00 to 12:00 and 13:30 to 17:00 Monday
through Friday. Banks and Post Offices are closed on Saturday and Sunday.
Climate
In May, the weather is usually very pleasant in Antalya. The average
high is between 23-25 °C (73.4-77 °F) and the average low is 13-15 °C
(55.4-59 °F) and average sea water temperature is around 22°C. Workshop
Venue and Hotel are air-conditioned.
